Car service

A reasonable night was passed and the nice Honda man came and picked up my car soon after 08.00. I was up and ready.

To cut a short story long, I learnt this afternoon that Honda had actually MOT’d the car for me ( despite me cancelling the MOT) and it had passed, despite the windscreen . It will, however, need two new front tyres soon. And the service was good. So that is all a very, very big relief. Just the new windscreen next week, and the tyres at a later date.

I was expecting Alex for lunch at around 2.00pm which became 3.00 pm which became 3.20pm. But I was ahead of the game and had used the instant pot to cook my beans and my adjusted beans with chilli and other veg and spices, were ready to go in the oven an hour before they were needed. They get better caramelisation in the oven. But baked in the instant pot the beans produce a lovely broth which H really enjoys. There is usually too much!

We had a great lunch. The veg chilli beans were supplemented by shredded cabbage and a sort of guacamole. And then we passed a very pleasant few hours together, whilst Fleur joined us, after school, to watch the last episode of Traitors, during which I had fallen asleep last night. But I had caught up, but watching it for a second time made me realise how much I had missed. It’s good that Fleur now has greater independence having passed her test.
The two Illis departed, my car was returned home by Honda, and I can hunker down for the evening. And episode 9 of Traitors in the hope I stay awake.

I do not like the unknown – it stresses me and various worries have been removed. So mostly all good.

I have been quite busy domestically. H has not had a walk which is virtually unheard of. But both dogs have been calm, and sometimes quiet!

Eleanor and I shared Traitors live, and its various outcomes, via texts. My having fallen asleep yesterday, meant she had found herself abandoned. Today I did better. No spoilers, but the intrigue (and idiocy) seems particularly good this year. Every episode springs surprises, twists and turns. And the directors must have to be flexible .
