I passed an Interrupted night but got through it. I amused myself watching Playing Nice on TVX. It is a recent offering and was absolutely slated in Guardian reviews – for its plot. Far fetched, true, but how often do you watch far fetched plots on TV! I found it quite irresistible and watched the whole 4 episode mini series. The acting was good and scenery was stunning. It made me feel uncomfortable and I found it a good watch.

I carried out some unimportant housework, and more important admin, and took down my Christmas cards and removed my two external illuminated decorations. Christmas is definitely over. Schools are back apart from the odd malingerers.
The day dawned chilly and wet and wind was in the forecast. Most uninviting.
Debs came to take care of my feet late morning and they feel nicely treated and massaged. We put the world to rights and discussed driving tests.
Fergus has one booked in Gloucester in March – he and Fleur started school together and are the oldest pupils in their school year. But Fergus now goes to school in Wallingford for his A Levels as he rows to national standard from Wallingford rowing club. To be at school there makes life easier.
After my toes were massaged etc , H and I went off for a walk in Cholsey. She was short changed yesterday so took advantage of the space today. But it was cold and very slippery underfoot. But we tottered round and I made sure we abandoned grassy tracks in favour of shingle. The clouds were amazing- different in all directions.


I returned home to sprouts plus other veg in cheese sauce. Yummy. A bit like cauliflower cheese without the cauliflower. Had I had any …
