Normal Service Resumes

Yes! For the first time in around three months, I awoke to a (normal, dismal, grey,) morning with no sewing, knitting, painting, buying or wrapping to do. The day stretched ahead of me to do with as I pleased.

I clearly need a new challenge. Perhaps I should take up learning a musical instrument.

Don’t worry folks. I’m only joking.

But I do have drawing and beginners’ crochet booked in for the New Year.

I drank my medicinal cup of decaf, unloaded the very full dishwasher and made an omelette. And then I had a quick chillax.

Next up – H and I were off out for a walkie in the chilly dismalness that was waiting outside. She was pleased to be back to the normality of a decent stretch of the legs. Though she had been given several good walks in Devon. We wandered a slightly different route at Cholsey Meadows, via the allotments. The ponds were quite a lot smaller than a few days ago . Dry weather over the Christmas period might actually mean that Pangbourne Meadows are walkable. I have Minnie tomorrow for the day and would quite like to go there.

I visited our main Waitrose whilst we were out and found the shelves weighed down by fresh produce. I was spoilt for choice. And came home with various goodies. The shop and car park were both fairly quiet.

I cooked the gigabytes beans that had been soaking. They were a bit reluctant to soften but they eventually complied, making a very tasty stew. Gigabytes – that’s twice now Apple has interfered and miscorrected Gigantes. These had been brought to me all the way from Greece. The beans you buy here are just not the same.

The rest of the day drifted by in peace and quiet and dozing. I also caught up on the new two mini parter of the Split. Oh Nicola Walker and Stephen Mangan – what twits you are.
