Peaceful Day

Quite a good night as far as sleep is concerned. I didn’t need to hurry to get up. Mindful, however, that Minnie had a mega drink at bedtime, I invited her outside as I hunted out a drink for myself, soon after 05.00. H just slept on.

I busied myself with the usual domestic chores and carried out some research into Christmas Presents and other such matters.

After a while, a certain restlessness became apparent from Minnie. She was probably just hungry since I forgot to give her brekkie, but I thought she was anxious for a walk. However, both dogs became alert to the rattle of the lead. And we were off.

Rain had been pouring all morning. The roads were covered in poodles. But it was not cold. The old railway line at Hampstead. Norreys was the location. For our walk. It is not muddy and has a fine gravel surface.
H was distracted by a male cocker poo who had one thing on his mind. A bit likeGreg Wallace, games and chat pregnant with sexual innuendo. Minnie, who quite wanted to play, was ignored.

H did not, and informed the lairy cocker poo that his attention was unwarranted and the nice owners took charge and apologised. The rain eased during the walk and it was dry as we reached the car.

I popped into Vicars and shopped for the Illis as well as myself. And popped out again.

Upon my return home, I remembered that Minnie had not had brekkie so I lugged the new 12kg Wagg bag down the corridor and decanted it into the large bin. Whereupon she pounced on the bowlful I gave her. H was given a scattering in her own bowl which she carefully ignored.

Dave eventually arrived to collect Minnie around 17.00. And he was putting some of their garden furniture cushions in the loft and brought some of our Christmas items down. Just some. But it’s a start. I was able to hand him a bagful of items from Vicars.

I enjoyed a chat with the birthday girl earlier in the day. She will stay in Exeter for a couple of days but has to get an assignment in (online) for her degree tomorrow.

Today, I achieved some more useful achievements. So did Liverpool FC. They seem to be doing well post Klopp. Kloppy was adored by Liverpool supporters and residents. He did a lot for the club and the city. Slot has yet to make his mark personality – wise.

Greg Wallace’s foot is firmly in his mouth. What a ghastly little man. He’s cocked up well and truly in Prince Andrew style. Watch his video today, and his ineptitude will make you squirm. Someone kindly said his behaviour was due to a ‘bawdy’ sense of humour. Maybe. Inappropriate might be a better word. Four wives might reflect his attitude towards women. Easy on, easy off.

I had a few wakeful moments during h the evening and hit upon old episodes of Miranda, dating back to 2009 . Quite topical really as her little friend, Stevie, or a younger version thereof, has just survived another week of Strictly. But if you want to s good belly laugh, Miranda does the job. Far from helping me feel calm and relaxed, I was giggling away. Relaxed yes. Not sure about the calm bit. I sort of felt guilty having a good laugh, all on my own!
