Blockage

I had a good sleep last night with my new pillow arrangement in place.
But somehow ( better not to ask) I managed to block the loo. And then trying to clear the blockage with the loo brush not only did not clear it, but also made things worse.

I pondered the situation, took H out and performed a bit of groveling at Reception. They sent a ‘porter’ up, armed with a plunger, and, it was sorted! So from a gloomy start, the mental fog lifted and the day looked brighter. Not literally because it didn’t, but mentally for me, it looked brighter.

It was not cold, but it was windy, and grew windier throughout the day. H and I walked at Aberdovey where the sand was wetter and easier to walk than the other day.

There was some strange event going on on the sand, involving children, orange rubber dinghys a 4×4 shoving some railed piece of equipment around and possibly the outward bound job lot.

There was another orange dinghy which appeared to be riding the waves at noisy speed. It was full of children. Banana boat substitute perhaps.

We then drove up to Tywyn where the sea was thrashing around in the near distance. I eyed up no 7 Glan y Mor but decided not to inspect it. They’ve painted all the brickwork white so the maisonettes sport an unfamiliar look.

Ali was on the phone because they had no power and they were hoping to visit Underhill and use my premises. Unfortunately, Moulsford has no power either. ( It was outed for several hours. )

In Devon, Pen has also been without power again.
The Moulsford job is slightly more serious due to where the malfunction has occurred, up near Halfpenny Lane somewhere inaccessible. I’m quite glad not to be there right now. It sounds as if it is England’s turn to get a battering now.

Back at the hotel, I was about to order my prawn salad , when I noticed some intruders sitting in my window space in the doggy lounge. They did not even have a dog fffs. So I ate my lunch in the bar area whilst occupying my brain . And resenting the occupation of my space.

Once the intruders had left, I took up my regular position.

And sat there a while watching stormy seas and a trail of people heading towards the pool. That’s a weekend for you I suppose.

And the day passed. I considered my routes back. The way I came has a couple of large sections of road closure, so it looks as if I will have to turn more directly east and head for Newtown and Ludlow. Shame because I love the traditional route. However, today should be dry which should ease matters. And to think, there were blizzards on the M4as I drove here.

it is now Monday morning and I must get H out and a couple of bags down to the car. This has been a very enjoyable stay, despite the weather. And I will always treasure the day the weather behaved and the views over Talyllyn. Even the stormy days provided interest.

It’s pouring with rain !!!! And it is not supposed to!

Thought for the Day

Those were the days ….
