And the showers ranged from light to heavy, but it remains mild.
I had an absolutely dreadful night, probably my own fault for dozing in the chair the previous evening. I remember feeling dozy, but also thinking it would have been too early to go to bed. I should have just bitten the bullet and gone.
In Ancient times, I would have been more than happy to go to bed as the sun set and get up as it rose. Not so great in summer but great in winter.
And the hour goes back tonight which I think gives me more time in bed. I will still make a mess of getting my head around it.
The Illis have a busy few days which is also confusing me. They seem to be off to Bristol today so I have borrowed Minnie for the day and will keep her until they return from Derby on Tuesday. Get it? Well done if you did. Anyway, I’m off to Devon on Wednesday until Saturday.
As a result of the Illis and their train trip to Bristol, and the train responsible for getting them there being cancelled, I picked up Minnie unexpectedly early. That meant an early and immediate walk for both dogs at Cholsey. I had forgotten to take the ball and it started to rain anyway. I was not appropriately dressed for this unusual weather event so had to cut the walk a bit short.
In spite of this, the dogs remained peaceful all day. H guarded my presence from underneath the art table and Minnie slept across the doorway as I busied myself. For an hour or two.
Later, I spent a little while watching Netflix, the Confession, starring Martin Freeman based on true events and Police competence / incompetence . It’s a 2019 release I think. I don’t know how we missed the actual events in the press ( when they happened ) because it is the sort of thing I would have discussed with T and it is quite local too, involving the White Horse at Uffington. And lawyers. And Swindon police. Good prevailed, but sadly, not before DCI ‘Martin Freeman’ had lost his job and career.
I picked up a naughty curry for my supper. The Cholsey based Memories of Bengal does a great curry.
I managed to stay awake for most of Strictly. They are a good bunch this year and only one has the advantage of previous serious experience. Others are making amazing progress and most of the cannon fodder has now been eliminated. Even Craig seems to have transmorphed into a judge who is being fair and looks for the positive. He is losing his cantankerous reputation. He must be careful.

Yoko sent the above snap of a fox visiting in Rafina garden. What a fine creature but perhaps it explains why their cats never seem to survive for long.
Thought for the day
