Today has been dry with sunny and cloudy spells.
I made a right old mess of my puzzles this morning which was rather annoying.
No swim today because I had things to do before leaving for Reading. I decided to allow a couple of hours to find my way there and get lost, which has happened every time.
But for once I was there quite quickly, without the usual mishaps and hold ups and I found a place to park immediately in front of me as I swung into the car park.
And on this occasion, I brooked no resistance from the bulky pillar. Unlike last time when a pillar and I had to negotiate an agreement to allow me to park. Various other drivers were clearly jealous of my parking success and enviously eyed up my nicely parked car. And even queried if I was coming or going.
I was ‘well early,’ and had nearly two hours to while away whilst eating a strange panini . I think someone put pesto inside it for some strange reason. Probably to give the mozzarella some flavor because it had none that I could taste.
A coffee accompanied this lot . And I studied the stream of people making their way in and out of the hospital. Staff in colour coded clothing, clutching their lunch purchased from the M and S food shop. Top choice, M and S. After my peculiar panini, I can understand why they went to M and S as opposed to the cafe where I was sitting.
An assortment of buggies and wheel chairs transported the more infirm around, and then there were the people with sticks and rollators and other mobility aids. And in amongst them all, were a few able bodied people striding by with great determination.
The Urology doctor and his helpers and his student were lovely. He used a cystoscope to investigate my inner workings and withdrew the stent with the help of the cystoscope. I believe they may have stuffed some local anaesthetic inside me. The procedure probably took less than 5 minutes.
And they also informed me I was infection free,. Wow! Good news since I’ve been infected for at least five months, really good news.
There are no further restrictions and main advice is to drink masses of fluids. There is a reasonably high risk that I might develop more stones. To avoid this – kept hydrated and not too many leafy greens which I really enjoy so that is a bit frustrating. They did not have a stone analysis but it does not mean analysis did not take place. The results may not have arrived.
I was home before 15.00, to discover that H had decided to take up knitting. At least for some reason she had found a ball of thread and played with it, unraveling quite a chunk of it across the floor. Mischievous girl.
She had a walk at Cholsey before I left for Reading, but had probably needed a longer one.
I contemplated battling on with the knitting but am rethinking using the pattern because it requires too much concentration and counting for such a small piece of work. I like to multitask and whilst knitting . Further investigation required.
I had field mushrooms and mash for supper overlaid with a pile of garlic. Better keep my distance tomorrow.
Thought for the Day
