The usual sort of night followed the day before… I slept quite well after partying. But awoke to rain. Lots of it. It was nice not to hear a river pouring from the gutters. The clearance has made a difference. However DCI explained that they had been disturbed during the night by the noise of extremely heavy rain attacking their velux roof window.
There were some odd, loud, clattery, street noises outside at the front of the house, at around 07.00. Whoever was responsible did not have much regard for anyone still trying to sleep. I could see nothing from the windows and was not tempted to open the door to satisfy my curiosity. ( Noziness)
Nothing was scheduled for today so the usual sorts of domestic / craft activities ensued. For a while.
Eventually H indicated that she would quite like a walk. So I was relieved to see the day had dried up and the sun was emerging.
As we were preparing, I received a text from Fleur telling me what time she was playing hockey. Then Ali said that Peter and Freda would be watching on the side lines seated in a couple of chairs.
So after a lovely walk enjoying sunny Cholsey Meadows, I joined P and F and other members of the family at Wallingford Hockey Club. It was great to see them again, first time since their diamond wedding celebrations in the summer. The sun continued to shine and we chatted while F ran around playing a winning game of hockey.

I returned home, rather hungry, and sorted out something to eat. The day was now so beautiful that I left the back door open for H to enjoy the sun.
It was only when I awoke a while later, to find it dark, and chilly, thanks to the open kitchen door, that I reset myself and got on with the evening. H was much more interested in what I was eating, than in her own bowl of sustenance.
We are promised stormy weather tomorrow.
All in all, a lazy day, with sunny spells and visitors!
