What a relief to awake to blue sky and sunshine after the last few miserable days. But it felt very chilly at 10C. The whole day has felt sharp and chilly.
The night had passed with a brief interruption in the middle. I succumbed to temptation and listened to some of the Harris -Trump debate.
What utter piffle and preposterous crap was spouted by Trump. Anyone who believes his lies or knowingly votes for someone delivering such nonsense must be equally potty. I guess that’s a large proportion of the American people.
I took myself out and about to Didcot whence the drive was uplifting as it always is on sunny days. The pool, however, was not only chilly, but also busy, thanks to a stream of displaced people who were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Led by the lady in blue and other barely movers.
The lane thinned out and my two favourites and I were left to do our stuff.
And, hey, the sun was still out as I left. Still a chilly sun. By the time its rays reached Earth anyway. Perhaps they went the long way round.

Views on the way home from the top of Halfpenny Lane.
I was not at home long, before I gathered up H? and we wandered across the Rec to the Pavilion for the monthly coffee morning, I missed the last one – just forgot it I think. Some of the usual familiar faces were there. I wish I was not so hopeless with names.
I had a little while to relax, but not doze, before leaving for SW in Newbury. I didn’t hang around today after the weigh in. But I’m glad I went because I’ve removed another pound. It’s slow going at the moment. Brenda is on a visit to her sister and the meeting part can be UNBELIEVABLY boring . It’s worse in Newbury than Wallingford because Newbury is a larger group.
But I really don’t need to sit and listen to how Esmerelda managed to lose half a pound last week or what Jennifer ate when she went out so she still managed to lose two pounds. Or what Philippa intends to eat while on holiday next week to minimise any weight gain.
I resisted the temptation to pick up a Chinese and ate a chunk of sour dough baguette, salad and yet more salmon pate. Whilst out, I also bought ingredients to make a new one. No dill though.
And once home I settled down with my naughty goodies to watch Race around the World. I saw the titles come up but that was all. I’ll save it for later.
Thought for the Day
