Rain was forecast and so it did. Not surprising really because I hung the washing out and then watered the plants. Bound to rain after that.
After abandoning the chair at done ridiculous early hour I finished off my sleep in a very satisfactory manner and awoke again at around 06.00.
I took a fairly quick decision to go swimming, conscious of the fact that it was swimmers breakfast morning ( at Root One) this Monday.
My swim was satisfactory, in a pool that was quiet at the start but filled up a bit later. My favourite ladies were there so it was all good.
Breakfast was the most massive and delicious plateful which kept me going absolutely all day. It afforded me a good snooze this afternoon and I am still not hungry this evening.
Folks, if you want a good brekkie, Root One is the place to go. The group today were very pleasant. I was not sure when I first went that we were all on the same, or similar pages. But today put my mind to rest and the conversation was interesting.
Si de rain was forecast after 3pm I wanted to get home to walk H. But after watering g the plants and dealing with the washing, things did not pan out as planned.
H got her walk after 17.00 – and we made it back to the car just before the heavens opened really wide and it tipped down. We were damp enough anyway, despite it being a short walk. We were at Cholsey avoiding duckling pond …

I paid a visit to Waitrose for a few essentials that I cannot buy in Lidl. Then I went to Lidl for a few essentials I can’t buy in Waitrose- cheap potting compost and the best frozen prawns ever.
The compost was needed for my latest cunning plan for the front garden which involved two large earthenware pots I acquired this morning at Root One. I have a couple of ancient pre planted pots from a couple of years ago which include surviving background greenery. Little shrubs that survive anything. Well these little shrubs are going to become my front garden permanent greenery.
And it continued to absolutely pour with rain.
I decided against anything fancy for supper and settled on a salad. Not being hungry dismissed most of my ideas. This evening was very dark and depressing.
I see Trump is on a wave after his not very near assassination attempt. America seems to be falling apart and Americans – Republicans- well all of them- I just don’t get it. And I find both the presidential candidates scary offering an element of risk.
