So far, it’s been dry and warm and marginally sunny. Though I must mention I felt a tad chilly as I sat in the garden this morning. Briefly. It was a busy morning.
I had a reasonable sleep, once I shifted myself from the chair to the bed. Having had the house cleaned yesterday, it was time to have a clean bed too, so the sheets, duvet cover etc all got heaved into the washing machine.
While that was going on I did a bit of admin/ communication. And prepared myself mentally for the day ahead because that would include mowing the grass. Always have to psych myself up for that.
The recent dry spell meant it hadn’t grown much and was turning brown at the far end. Then we had some really heavy rain a few days ago which meant it sprang into life again.
So, the grass was mown, the strimmer strimmed some messy edges. I then watered my small holding and finally, sat down for a bit. The washing that I hung up earlier did its best to spoil my view.

The coffee was very welcome.
I ventured inside to make some more boureki, which I know takes about two hours to bake. So, I took H out for a walk in Streatley and returned just as the boureki reached perfection. And of course it needed to be eaten, and enjoyed.

I then summoned enough energy to fill a watering can – it’s really a watering plastic vessel – firstly full of water, and then I added tomorite and poured it over anything that fruits – ie not just tomatoes.
I sat down with my boureki just as the Wimbledon Ladies Final was beginning which ensured I dozed off as soon as my boureki was inside me.
Pictures began to arrive of the girls at the Taylor Swift show and of the other family on Paros. Am I envious? Of the Paros bit? Yes. But it looks as though the five Swifties have had fun by Lake Como and in Milan. Shame one of them forgot to mention to her husband that she would be away for a week and not just a couple of days! 🙂

And now to Paros … where they have managed to find peaceful places … the bottom photo is of a temple they are reconstructing on an islet called Despotiko which is separated from Antiparos by a shallow strait of water only 1m deep. Apparently archaeological finds indicate this islet might have been as significant as Delos. I remember a shallow water ride from Paros to Antiparos

The afternoon became dull and uninviting. Time to close up the shed and recover the garden furniture. Ie cover it up.
Thought for the Day
