It has been a hot day, a sweat inducing day, if I was doing anything active. Which I was, at times.
I awoke at a reasonably early time, so I was able to be out and about with little H before 09.00. We went to Pangbourne Meadows which were serene and peaceful with a few other early risers and many dog walkers. They were out to get ahead of the projected heat I suspect.
We had some fun involving; walking, snuffling, chatting, paddling etc. Oh and sitting. Pooing too.
We returned for a little rest, only it did not work out that way. because I realised (unfortunately) that I had time to whisk the mower round the grass. It wasn’t exactly a whisk… it was a shove, a push, a naughty word, a flick of the cable, a deft move of the feet ( my shin carefully controlling what my feet did) and repeat.
I may have mentioned it was hot so the sweat started to trickle and I flopped with relief once it was done. My eyes were blind to the wispy lawn edges and I went to refresh myself before Brenda arrived.
She was on time and we soon left for Pierreponts where I had reserved a table for lunch. The lunch was very tasty and we chatted for England over various drinks and tantalising tit bits.
We returned home for more of the same and enjoyed being in the garden in the warm sunshine.
Brenda left and I watered my plants. My fuschias at the front are in a sorry state. How can well watered plants have leaves that dry up? Watering the plants must be a relaxed and peaceful activity, you might think. But it was still hot and moving around with the hose merely induced more sweat.
I shall soon be under the shower and be ready to relax.
A very nice day.
