Boring

Yes, boring weather today, mostly grey, not cold, but not warm either, dry, very little sun.

I felt very tired when I woke up but I managed to get myself up and out for a swim. I all but gave up because the lane was populated by some very very slow people… and there were lots of them. Only the odd quiet moments.

H was pleased to see me upon my return. We had a few minutes down time before leaving to pick up Fleur after her Maths exam.
Ali was a bit worried that F might not relax into the exam due to a ‘dog poo on my shoes and then all over the car incident.’

I believe this caused some stress on their journey to school which was edging on arriving late. F is not using the school bus during exam time.

But – she bounced out of the exam quite confident so hopefully the incident caused no problems.

I took H on a quick walk to Pangbourne but I have felt very tired all day . So we were not our long.
I returned home to try and revive myself but did not really have great success.

I made my way out to Route One, with H in tow. Feeling guilty about her earlier walk, I took her on a short circuit round Cholsey Ponds.
I needed a replacement plant for my dying lavender tree. I’ve had this a couple of years but a few days ago it decided to curl up and die. No idea why because it had been in the process of producing new buds.

So a trip to Route One also yielded a replacement fuschia for the one I’ve killed at the front. The murdered item is showing evidence of new leaves at root level so it is replanted but at the back of the house.

I shall replant the memorial baskets with geraniums and trio bells.

It has been a sultry day and I have not achieved much.

H, as is her wont, spent the evening outside. It was nearly 22.00 and not quite dark as I summoned her inside. Talk about being slow… despite various encouraging pleas, she did not appear, although I could hear the tinkle of her bell.

I gave up waiting and went hunting, thinking she must be stuck somewhere. Not stuck, just on an important mission trying to bury her rather manky ball in some gravel. The only tool available being her nose. This action triggered all the tinkling.

Thought for the Day
