It was forecast to be windy and warm, and it was, although the warmth was masked by the wind. It was good though, to be out sitting in it ( watching hockey).
I was in no mood to be out and about early, although my taxi and its bookings were reorganised by those requiring my services.
I eyed up the peonies, which will be very lovely plants, and decided that it was now or never.
Armed (or handed) with my protective gloves, I found a digging implement ( no, not the spade) and started to excavate a hole. I didn’t get far because I encountered some unyielding piece of concrete or stone, and my hole was not deep enough. So I tried the same in an adjacent spot. Same result.
I eventually succeeded in achieving a deep enough hole in a spot by the shed and the first peony lies nestled in compost, sunk suitably deep. The second peony has followed suit, but by the fence and is also in a compost filled hole.
Next job was walking H around Cholsey Meadows but I forgot to stop the workout so it generously credited me with some of the drive.
By now, I was reminded to go and check up on George, whose phone was flat, and who had not been busy revising or having lunch, as instructed. He assured me he had eaten 5 Weetabix, which would do. His mother disagreed when she reappeared from her hockey match. So he had cold baked beans, straight out of the tin.
I taxied them to Hithercroft to watch Fleur and her Ladies 1 team play an amazing final game of the season. They needed to win this by 4 goals to come top of their league. They one by 3 goals to 2 which makes them tied first, but second due to goal difference. Fleur and the rest played very well.

I brought G back to ours, Dave picked him up and I had lunch. Late. And drifted in and out of a doze in case Ali and F needed a lift home. They found someone else to transport them and so H and I enjoyed a peaceful evening.
Outside the wind was very very strong… I hope it lessens soon.
