Disturbance in the Force

I woke up a bit early, but was able to drift in and out of sleep.
The sky was blue when I finally opened my eyes – daylight arrives a bit later these days.
Quite inviting really.
So, after performing the usual rituals, H and I wandered down to Cholsey, where we walked in warm sunlight and sat on a bench, soaking it up a bit more.

It was very pleasant out there, and despite the presence of nearby houses, it is a peaceful place to be. H sniffled around in the reeds and explored the waters.

From there, I made a dash to Waitrose where I found some brown tahini (I shall make humus) and some leeks. It had to be Waitrose because I did not think I would find tahini anywhere else. In fact, initially, I could not locate tahini there either but it was tucked amongst world foods, Lebanon style. And they also offered a variety of tahini types.

Spectacular clouds above…

Following Waitrose, we visited Root One for a few more bedding plants and some tomato and runner bean seeds.

Coincidentally, I found Ali and George arriving chez nous at the same time as myself. They were here to collect their garden furniture cushions from the loft. Ali has decided that her children will enjoy revising for their exams in the sun.

Our garden shed was quite happy with all its clutter. Of course, it no longer gets its daily airing from T who opened its doors to the elements. But Alex, AKA the whirlwind, had better ideas about its contents. . A disturbance in the force.
She cleaned the outdoor table top, and the static bike. G disposed of more of T’s cardboard stash. Most of the chairs are now out, and under cover, so I can entertain half of Moulsford when the sun is out.
T could never cope with covering the furniture and leaving it out. But he did put it away and closed the shed doors in the evening. Part of his daily rituals, until recently, when it became too much and the shed and its contents festered in peace.

So our winter patio is now in use – a real sun trap on those rare occasions… And we discussed the gate problem…

Maybe my bedding plants will get going.

It was lovely and warm on our winter patio, until the dark clouds arrived, causing more disturbance, bringing rain drops with them. The rain had been accurately promised for 14.00. Time to retreat.

I gathered up the veg left over from last night, and threw them into a pan with a few additional ingredients, which, liquidised together, produced a lovely earthy soup. With lots left over. I’ll be alright over the next few days.

I tried to watch Traces but lost the plot a bit. Or maybe it was the plot that lost me. No spoilers.

Thought for the Day
