Bright

Today was a bright and dry day. Not particularly warm.
I slept quite well, my stuffed up nose remained unstuffed last night.
When at Pen’s , I have to manage the stairs so I have as little involvement with them as possible. Thus, I showered and dressed and prepared most of my possessions for departure later in the day, then I went and escorted H downstairs.
We went into the garden to study the estate, where the grass remained very spongy. And very wet. I eyed up the estate towards the meadow, and my ears were again assaulted by the sound of roaring and deep water. The village ditch had obviously grown. I walked towards the gate to nowhere. And peered over it, into a steep chasm below.

Various pictures I took of the estate earlier this morning.

Whilst I was exploring, Pen took H for a longish walk and returned to teach me some screen printing.
She was on a bit of a loser! But was very patient. It is quite a complicated process – to the uninitiated. And quite messy. Or very messy as far as I am concerned. She demonstrated by printing pink elephants.

I chose beach huts. And I now have a lovely collections of cards printed with beach huts. These beach huts have ill fitting doors and stripes that float to one side. And they also have unattached flags hovering above them. I could pretend they have a certain charm. If you receive one, you will recognise the talent (or lack of it) behind its production and I hope you will treasure it for its uniqueness. I wonder if an artist has ever received accolades for what goes wrong… a bit like the Razzies…

My beach huts …

We took ourselves to Greendale for lunch where we had a magnificent jacket potato and prawns each. Those places that offer the same round here (meager in comparison) should study Greendales’ rich offering. Greendale was busy, but we soon emptied it. I managed to ignore the cakes for once.

I left Aylesbeare around 15.00 after a lovely couple of days. The journey home via the A303 was trouble free. And H navigated accurately. By now it was cloudy and not very inviting outside.
I was a good girl and emptied the car and my bags straight away. The beautiful jasmine plant with all its buds is now sitting in the fresh air awaiting a location in the garden.
The garden which requires attention.

Still full of jacket potato, I needed no supper and fell asleep in the chair for an hour or so before I removed myself to bed.

Thought for the day

It will be three months tomorrow.
