I slept well. No swimming today because it is a Saturday. And I had an art workshop to attend in Ipsden. It was led by Denny Webb a local professional artist. She is a very good teacher and taught me all sorts of things I did not know. Not just about water colour as a medium, but about painting different skies and a bit about the colour palette. And all sorts of other things I had not thought about.
My day started with an early walk for H, back at Cholsey. It was gloomy and misty and 07.30 when we were out.
H gave herself a bit of a surprise during an altercation with some ducks. She found herself almost swimming. Poor baby! She was very wet. The ducks won.
At home, I dried her off and then we set off for the Illis, where H would stay for the day, because my course was from 10.00 until 4.00pm. I enjoyed a cup of coffee there before setting off via Goring for Ipsden.
The route gave me a bit of a surprise because the road was in very poor condition in places. I think tractors had added layers of mud to the surface because it could not be seen at times.
Ipsden village hall was a handy venue and Denny Webb, our teacher is a talented artist, and a knowledgeable and well organised instructor .
We used watercolours to explore painting different skies – blue and clouds, stormy etc.
My success was mixed. Or rather – not all my efforts were successful. But I enjoyed the day and I liked the other attendees. I shall look forward to the next workshop on rivers which is in a couple of weeks.

I collected Heidi around 4.30pm and that is it for the moment. I do feel tired – my workshop was quite intense.
I shall prepare supper and try and avoid dozing. But then, I have been awake all day!
