Even more Rain

The weather was horrendous today. Warmer than yesterday, it was a day of very heavy showers and occasional dry intervals.

The drive to Didcot for my swim was even worse than yesterday, because between Blewbury and East Hagbourne, deep water lay across the road. It was dark for my drive today which meant I could not tell if the water was just surface water or something more elemental and deeper.

I decided it might be sensible to return by a different route.

My 1km swim was enjoyable, but the pool was busier today and other swimmers were a bit of a nuisance at times.

I completely forgot to return via the Wallingford road and found the waters even worse in places.

I arrive home to discover Amazon had been and gone. The parcel contained my new extension leads with their USB and USB C ports. This was very exciting, until I tried to retrieve the contents from

their boxes. Very tightly packed they were, and I was almost in a rage of impatience by the time I had extracted all three extension leads. I decided which one was going in which room and disconnected the old leads. They work! And are squarer in nature and more pleading on the eye than the old long ones with about 6 plug sockets. The new ones don’t require so many plug sockets due to all the ports. Great!

Nice Loren came to clean. She has replaced Lisa and her three workers. They did a superficial job. They dusted round things and hoovered round things and mopped around things, but that was it. Loren moves things and is very thorough.

I took H out so that she could get on, and I would not be sitting idly whilst she worked. We were lucky in that we kept dry whilst we dodged the mud in Streatley Meadows. It’s all my fault for thinking it was Springlike a few days ago. And the ground had dried out a lot. But not anymore. The reverse in fact.

I picked up some of the nice Waitrose tomatoes and other salad items, and cooked some fish to go with it. Then I fell asleep. Watched a bit of TV and fell asleep again. Time for bed and more sleep.

Thought for the Day
