Swim Time 2

Another bit of a restless night but not too bad otherwise. I awoke to take in caffeine and decided that after the success of yesterday’s swim, I would repeat it. But I deliberately left home a bit later, in order to drive there in daylight. My swim was booked for 8.10 so I had cleverly organised my timing to coincide with rush hour on the roads.

It was another very pleasant swim with plenty of space and not too many people . I swam just over 500m. I need to get up to 1000m again, but slowly slowly.

The start of today was unpleasant again- damp and miserable. I was in my towelling dry robe again so required a shower upon my return.

H and I didn’t hurry out for her walk (by now I had stiffened up again somewhat) but did that on the way to Saddleback Farm shop for lunch.
The sun had appeared at Streatley Rec and I sat down for a few moments enjoying the warmth, the bird song and kites wheeling overhead. H sat upright, eyes half closed, allowing the breeze to ruffle her fluff as she sniffed exotic delicacies travelling on the breeze.

We moved on to Saddleback to be greeted by a shocker – they were closing down in a few days. Not enough profit apparently. I will miss it there, sitting outside in summer, able to enjoy the views, was a real treat. And they are dog friendly, Val had Ben with her today and H and Ben were so very well behaved.
Although we were sitting inside today, distant views brought a very large herd of deer to our attention. I had no idea there were som many of these creatures around and about.

We had a lovely natter over lunch . Even Dame Sue managed to make it, but Paula did not. Such a shame. (!) Their spicy tomato soup was very tasty.

After I arrived home, I snoozed, cooked my flat mushrooms and snoozed some more. I blame the swimming ! But I felt less stiff this evening. I didn’t make it as far as Traitors. Bother ! That will require me to pay attention on catch up. And might affect the night to come.

Cleaner Loren might be visiting tomorrow so will need to be out of the way for a while.

Burt has interfered with my bins yet again. Grr.

Thought for the day
