I had a good night last night. Fast asleep until around midnight. A quick wake up to watch Call the Midwife. But it only sent me to sleep.
I had failed to realise that brekkie was served from 08.00 today, and not 08.30, due to it not being the weekend any longer.
Coastal Lounge

My Coastal Lounge was empty this morning despite there being quite a lot of residential cars parked outside. Only one other person and his partner appeared, with a dog and a tail. The tail was of the spaniel variety and was constantly wagging. I could see the tail when I couldn’t see the rest of the dog.
It was a very cold morning and the car was iced over and required me to have the engine running to clear the windows. Just as well because the local recyclers were gathering recycling and blocking any chance of making an exit.
I had checked out and mentioned the poorly shower head. Water pressure is generally weak apparently, but it’s a long time since I’ve stayed somewhere with such pathetic shower power. Everything else was very nice.
We returned to Charmouth in glorious sunshine and the bluest of skies. The car parks were more or less empty as was the beach and the coastal path. H and I wandered and sat enjoying the views and the weather. I forgot to post snaps from yesterday. So I will start with a view from Sunday. Fossil hunters.

The rest are from today. The first one is the same view. More or less. The two views of the stream are of the River Char.

Lyme Bay

I followed the southern route to Aylesbeare, and arrived at the Robert’s’ lovely new house. It is amazing inside. Admittedly, it was in bits when I last saw it. Heidi seems quite content here too. I think she remembers the soft rug from the old house, now repositioned. It is s very high tec, operating lights etc in ways I can’t understand. The bathroom automatically offers subdued lighting when you enter it. Very handy for my night time trips.
We chattered, ate a snack and eventually went for a last walk with H at Exmouth just as the sun was setting on this weatherfully wonderful day.

Judging by its trajectory, I think that contrail belongs to a plane destined for Exeter airport.

Evening fire on the beach – they invited us to join them.
It became bedtime which set H off on her night time howling. I rescued her and brought her and her new fluffy bed, up to my bedroom with me so the rest of the household could get some sleep. Naughty girl.
