Season’s greetings!

I had a decent sleep last night- no waking at 03.00 for the first time in weeks. I awoke at 05.00 after several hours. And flexed, but my watch cheated. I also downed a bucket of coffee, but chose not to have brekkie or lunch.
I dropped off some Molton and Brown goodies for the staff at Cholsey Day Care. and had a chat with Cathy, the manager. She assured me I was welcome to pop in any time. Which I might well do.
It was H’s turn next and we were soon down at spongy Pangbourne inspecting the ducks in grey and damp conditions.
I received good news, for us, on the way there. Trudi was free to lead our funeral service on 3/1 at 4.00 At Thatcham Crematorium. Her original booking for that day was deferred- something to do with a coroner…Not such great news for them.
I returned H home and carried out a few chores before continuing to Didcot where I was heading for Argos which is inside Sainsbury’s.
M and S featured on the way. There was a long wait in Argos during which, I almost forgot where I had left the car. This Sainsbury’s is pathetic. There is no restaurant; no delicatessen; no butcher. No nothing. Apart from aisles of uninteresting and boring goods.
Now the shelves of M and S are different and are absolutely laden with all sorts of tempting delicacies.
I eventually escaped Argos and hunted the car down and headed for the Illis so that I could deliver G’s chicken and have a cup of coffee and chat with Fleur.
At home, I battled with the super king duvet. I’ve been sleeping under a single one for a while. And I battled with our shared one to get it into its cover again. I think it will be of comfort to me.
It was early evening by the time I arrived home.
Tony’s funeral is now confirmed for 3/1 at 4 pm at Thatcham Crematorium and there will be refreshments afterwards at a venu yet to be decided. The funeral directors are AB Walker of Reading. We have a meeting with them tomorrow and will see the Registrar on Thursday morning.
Sue Ryder eventually got their act together and got the death certificate out, but their communication is awful. There were no docs there at the end of last week – why didn’t they just tell me that? Instead of leaving us wondering when we would get the death certificate? It’s hardly a state secret’
