As far as days go…

It’s not been a bad one!
And it didn’t start until 07.15. Take into account that I fell asleep in the sofa at around 21.00 and that makes it a really good night of sleep.
Apart from sleep walking to bed and a trip to the loo etc.
So the ward round was a little later this morning, as was brekkie and coffee. But everything happened as usual.
There were a succession of trips to the door as things were delivered, including an actual parcel via Royal Mail. Unfortunately in their incompetence they seem to have also mislaid one. An important parcel. One parcel by another courrier, was the slimline tree I ordered due my own incompetence. Another was a parcel for T and one for Tina and V.

Anyway, the tree was assembled easily enough and arrived with a neat storage bag and two pairs of gloves to protect delicate fingers whilst assembling it. I trailed the lights around it which was not straightforward or simple because they were delicate lights in a copper wire. I have two sets, and yes the tree is half naked wearing only one set. But, they are battery driven with a remote control.
No grovelling under the tree to plug in lights, for me, this year. I just need a good supply of batteries. The lights also have 8 unnecessary modes. Just one would do. There’s nothing like being flashed in your own sitting room

H got a late walk today. T stayed in bed all day, just getting himself up in the evening to have a good cough.
Dave had kindly come round in the evening to bring down the Christmas decorations from the loft.
So no more excuses for not baubling the tree or for not hanging up external decorations etc. Just timers and plugs etc to sort out.

Underhill is beginning to look quite festive as some gardens are springing into glittery life. Our turn soon.

H and I went out in the late afternoon. I suppose I was hoping that it might stop raining. But it did not. We also visited the surgery dispensing machine to pick up refill medicines for the ward rounds.

Update: Wednesday morning – T had a bad night last night. Started a violent coughing fit soon after midnight. Lots of blood which meant it took him a while to calm down. But he did and slept well the rest of the night. I won’t take home to Daycare today. He is quite weak. I will be glad to see the oncologist tomorrow, perhaps she can suggest something.

Thought for the day
