I had a fairly good night all things considered. I like it best when I awake early and can have a little lie in. Or even a long lie in.
T was not in a good mood this morning and it grew worse as the day progressed. He was quite surly and definitely needed a while to get going.
I was planning to walk H on Lardon Chase and stop off at the Illis on the way, to hand over keys for France with some instructions.
We were supposed to meet a friend in Newbury for lunch later.
However, I was waylaid by Ali with a cup of coffee. And then H was offered a walk with Minnie which I could not refuse. So I left H there.
Next I returned home to collect T to take him out for lunch with Brenda. But by the time I arrived to get him, he was still in bed, his mood had darkened and he flatly refused to get up. He explained that he was about to play a game of golf. I couldn’t swap his reality.
It was time to leave for Newbury so I left him in bed. Ali and / or Dave had kindly agreed to look in on him.
Brenda and I had a very good lunch and natter together, at the Yew Tree in Ball Hill. A garden centre where they produce decent food.
Much of the rest of the afternoon was frittered at the Illis. I even dozed on their sofa. T had been collected by Ali and George and T played chess, Ali worked and Dave umpired hockey and went shopping. They are entertaining friends during an important rugby match tonight.
So the day did not pan out at all as expected. T was in a much better mood by the end of our visit.
We eventually parted company to return home and watched England nearly win a rugby match.
It was actually a nice sociable day.
