Memo to self

  1. It is not a good idea to handle chili peppers and then wipe your eyes.

Another interrupted night but not too bad. T was away with the fairies by the morning, incoherent and unwilling to stir himself.

We had to wait at home to hear from Nurse Claire, which wasted rather a lot of the morning. In fact I had to chase her up. She scheduled an appointment at 15.00.

In between times, Ali and F called in for a quick chat and to bring a tray of millionaires shortcake (which was not for us); Tina and I enjoyed quiche for lunch, and then took H down to Pangbourne. Pangbourne was not only busy but was also warm and sunny.

T was still not up, but got his act together enough to meet Nurse Claire. She is not sure the study has enough length for a hospital bed. Grr. He was having a bad day in terms of fatigue until the Nurse called by, when he did spring into action. But his coughing has continued to be reduced although he has had breathlessness. But not as much as previously.
Heidi let her pleasure be known once he was out of bed.

I went through all the medicines with the nurse, most of which have to be administered by professionals. There is one that expires this month which needs to be replaced. She explained their purpose and it all made sense.

Tina took T away from our conversation and they played more Scrabble in the kitchen.
Later, I prepped the spices and other ingredients for a kedgeree. Which we enjoyed in front of the TV.

Predictably, I dozed off leaving them watching Clarkson’s Farm. T for thé umpteenth time, Tina for the first time.

Pen and Co seem to have covered most of Rome- working hard out there. The Illis have been hard at hockey and football.

Tomorrow, we are dining at the Illis in the late afternoon. My responsibility is guacamole. Rupert and Yoko will join us.
