Just positioned in the right place to see swallows, mustering and then wheeling. On their way further south I suppose!

That was when I was out with H.
Back to the start of the day, of which there were several – false starts really I suppose. They had to come to an end, when I got around to engaging the brain with Wordle.
H and I enjoyed a warmish walk at Castle Meadows which were fairly empty. I haven’t been there for a while, mainly due to the craters I have to negotiate. I am holding these responsible for the tyre deflation I suffer from time to time.
But Waitrose is just round the corner and I wanted some of the Duchy strawberry jam I enjoyed in Norfolk. They didn’t have any. Other strawberry jam, certainly, but not Duchy.
But I did find SIL, Dave, in there so we had a brief chat.
I also bought a variety pack or two of small wrapped cheeses for T, as suggested by the dieticians. And crackers.
And the usual, grapes and bananas etc.
T had intended to come out with me, but chose to be very rude so paid the price when I went without him. I’m not sure his heart was really in a trip out.
Upon my return, I fed him a few of the delicacies which I had purchased.
I mentioned our holiday in positive terms in a dementia Facebook site I subscribe to and was overwhelmed with requests for details. Which I have passed on as much as possible.
There has been some reinforcement of my comments from 2 or 3 other posters.
After all this excitement, I had a Facetime with Anne, who is recently returned from New Zealand. We are all getting older and more damaged, it seems. Mary had been recently diagnosed with a cancer which is under investigation and Bill has been warned that he has a rapidly advancing dementia. Also currently under investigation. So the Gee clan has its trials and tribulations.
We are off for tea at the Illis tonight – a late birthday celebration.
Pen is travelling up for tomorrow’s appointment and will join us for a late tea.
Her participation in Devon open studios seems to have been a success.
Well -we were treated to a raclette – and how delicious was that? Traditionally, we used to have one every Christmas Eve as a start to the celebrations, but it has been a while since I have had one. We always used to have to buy the cheese in France and bring it over. But not any more.
Anyway, today’s was delicious and I was given a wonderful collection of very generous birthday presents.
Thank you everyone.
