I awoke, finally, to blue skies and a distant yellow blob. Positive thoughts filled my mind; it was clearly going to be a good day.
Unfortunately there was also a large lump of machinery and an associated generator, just outside our opposite neighbours . This equipment was filling the air with associated annoying noises.
T was not in a very positive mood but I persisted in jollying him along in an attempt to get him to Daycare. A successful attempt as it turned out. A bit late, but successful.
I took the dogs to Castle Meadows. It is a little nearer than Pangbourne, particularly from Cholsey, but I had got fed up with all the very deep craters and potholes that line the parking area. But we haven’t been for a while. And the craters were still there. And deeper than ever. The meadows were looking a bit tired, the grasses being past their best, drained of colour and leaning drunkenly.
The cattle were all over the place. They normally keep themselves in a large group, but not today. Everywhere we went there was some bovine or other lying in wait.

The walk must have been effective because the dogs are very quiet this evening,
I had to drop them off in order to get to my haircut, which was enforced sitting time, involving a soothing head massage. And a lighter head.
I then battled my way up the Coombe where the Gas Board are digging up the whole road, and put more food out for Freddy. I didn’t see him but some visitor has been eating his food, or he has. I might buy him a treat or two.
Time to go home and relax which was not very relaxing because I was too busy trying to stay awake.
T appeared to be in a happy mood when I collected him.
But at home he developed a coughing episode that would not stop. Usually his cough is loud and noisy, but doesn’t last long. This went on and on and was brought to an end by a cup of tea. His inhalers did not help. I had given him a piece of coffee and walnut cake so maybe something in that provoked it. It was super delicious cake from GG.
We had not heard an awful lot from our Greek holiday makers. Truth will out … this could be why… from Pen… remember they live near Exeter…

Oh I love my family!
They are now relaxing somewhere near Stoupa.
Today the Illis have been enjoying Peruvian sand!

Tomorrow they will be In Nazco if they catch the bus. And there might hang another story.
Thought for the Day
