No Pause for Breath

Another bad night’s sleep … and to think I thought Ihad got over the bad ones. Last night was disturbed by mental images of piles of emails which I needed to physically collect. I kept coming back to them as I tried to sleep. Very odd.

I awoke and fed T his toast and showered. He has been in sleepy mode all day long which was helpful as things turned out. H had a short walk at Streatley Rec which was busy with dogs, people, and little people.

I was back home before I realised. And having prepped a cheese sandwich for T, I departed for Hilliers in Thatcham, which is really in Thatcham and not in Aldermaston.
The journey was disrupted by the road closure up Streatley Hill and meant a tortuous Detour along winding and narrow lanes with overgrown hedges. I saw parts of West Berkshire that I had no idea existed.

As usual, it was good to see everyone and a good natter ensued.
The return journey was every bit as bad as the outward one. And signs signalled the road closure as far away as Hermitage. All 6 weeks of it.

But it was when I was back home that all hell let loose. Nigel Ardern the pysychistric nurse rang about the Blue Badge and was another helpful unhelpful. He agreed that it was preposterous that a report only 15 days out of date was not acceptable. And he reiterated that Oxford are known to be difficult and have adopted a ‘different approach’ from other counties. Or so he said. He suggested looking at his eyesight as another route.

That call was interrupted and so the afternoon went on pretty much in that vein. And life is becoming more complicated.

T remained in bed for much of the day but held his mood together. The washing dried and the grass is uncut. Maybe tomorrow.

I’m sad that fires in Greece are still burning.

Thought for the Day
