I had a good night’s sleep, awaking at the usual early time and performing the usual routines. Quordle did not go too well, however!
I haven’t seen Anne since we were in Crete on holiday last September, so it was extremely nice to see her again after so many months. She is off to NZ and Australia again for most of August.
We awaited the arrival of Anne and Daisy and all five of us set off for Pangbourne, to mindfully chat on their various benches.
The day had dawned dry and sunny and became very warm. Neither dog was hugely full of beans so the walk for us was short. H paddled but Daisy steered clear of the water.
We returned briefly to Moulsford, before driving in to North Moreton for a very good lunch. The main reasons to call by home were to drop off Heidi and for me to adjust my dress. I had done a good job this morning by putting my dress on back to front as well as inside out. Doh! It has one of those patterns that don’t make it too obvious. Thankfully
Lunch was very good indeed. The Bear was well busy! And they had opened their extension room which they could not use through the winter due to insufficient staff, both in the kitchen and waiting. This room had a lovely cool breeze floating through it. Very welcome as we ploughed away through heaps of vegetables and roast dinner.
Next we visited the Illis where Ali was pressure washing one of their patios and Dave was involved with constructing something from large pieces of wood. Fleur was into homework. And George was supervising everything!
We returned home for a cuppa. Our tummies were very full. And sleep was not far off. Anne elected to get herself back to St Albans where she was staying with her D and A lest she might never get there.
T and I rested with relief.
Someone at the BBC seems to have been a bit naughty. They might not have behaved illegally. But naughtily. Well one regular Monday news presenter was on holiday this morning. Coincidence probably.
