Wet

Today dawned rather early and rather grey. Well I expect Dawn was out and about at her usual time, I just spotted her earlier than I would have wished. The night had been rather warm. I kept kicking the lightweight duvet off to find T had replaced it over me. This became quite repetitive.

I fed him toast and coffee, in fact we both had some. I enquired whether he was ready for his tablets but his grumpiness exploded into a very negative response.

I was busy involved in some extremely important messages on my phone when it rang. The shock almost caused me to drop it. This call I had been expecting, but had forgotten that i was supposed to be expecting it.

It was Noel Edmonds calling.

No…not the famous one of Mr Blobby fame but an Australian version who lives in France and works as an estate agent for Leggatt Immobilier. It might not be spelt correctly. We had a brief chat about possibly marketing our house in France. He seems in the ball, or even on it. I await more details from him.

Now that I was properly awake, I gathered H and off we went to Castle Meadows, where I had an interesting parking manoeuvre to complete, navigating my way around the turning circle. Not helped by the idiot who was parked across it. It was not cold, but it was damp underfoot because Wallingford had recently showered. There were a few dogs around for H to investigate but it was fairly quiet.

Because it was quite cool, at a chilly 16C, I braved a trip to Lidl and managed to spend around £60 which is quite a lot at Lidl. Lidl is good value. So a bunch of bananas and 3 packets of grapes later (4heavy shopping bags in total) and we were on our way home. H remained in the car, which is why cool was important.

Not many people photograph their shopping but there is a reason why…

Did I get help carrying it into the house? Well the donkey was still asleep and that was a shame. T makes a very helpful donkey. But not if awoken suddenly. I fed him a sandwich once I had sorted out the fridge and my shopping.

My battle to track down a missing parcel ordered from Amazon continues. It is coming from Europe – first mistake on my part. They (apparently) tried to deliver it on 29/6. And would attempt delivery again. Feeling very annoyed, after some research, I have discovered that information was incorrect and they left a card saying they would leave it at a post office. What card? What post office?
further delving informs me – Cholsey. The post office is in Tesco’s. How many times have I been in there over the last week! Not a happy bunny. In any case why Should I have to use my car to collect something that I have paid to have delivered? How do they know I can get there? Why did they say they would reattempt delivery? Seems as if leaving a card is a blatant lie. God help the post office and Parcel Force- they need it. They are heading for last rites.

I had meant to do some portrait work. But instead I rested my eyes for quite a long time, dreaming dreams about long gone pupils.

And before I knew it was tea time and rain looked set in for ever. T was a good boy and ate most of what I cooked. Then he investigated the contents of the fridge and appeared with his evening snacks of a packet of grapes, a string of satsumas and a couple of bananas. I fell asleep to the strains of a grape symphony.
