Storm in a Teacup

Early today, it looked as if Russia might be in turmoil, and Putin was being challenged, but it looks like it all fizzled out. Shame those supporting Russia gains Ukraine were not hit where it hurts, … but maybe Putin has had a bit of a shakeup. Sabre Rattling can’t do any harm. A dose of their own medicine would have been even better. I suspect Prizoghin is now a marked man

My sleep was a bit patchy with a wakeful period in the middle of the night from which I never completely recovered. I took H for a trot at Pangbourne around 06.30.
There were a few dogs and their humans wandering around, as well as a flock of floating geese. It was quite sunny, but oppressive, and it was not long before the day became cloudy. But any promised thunder dissipated and it was just hot and sticky.

I didn’t really do much with the rest of the day, which was, in fact, the whole day. I had quite a long chat with Ali. Fleur is going the D of E for real this weekend. George has friends over.
George has acted bravely and wisely at school which has earned him praise.

I think Pen and Co are probably working hard packing things up fo their move on Monday. We now know the reason her Father’s Day gift for T was nit delivered. We were wrong! It was delivered but not here, to our old house. DPD /DHL I take it all back.

I worked on my painting of the Thames Path at Cholsey. There are the teasels to complete and other fine details. My new box of paints have arrived so I can pursue my Burghclere picture.
In fact in the meantime here is the unfinished Cholsey masterpiece: Those teasels are awaiting my attention.

Next week is scheduled to be fine but cooler. After tomorrow – that demands another early walk.
