Utterly Idle

I may have been utterly idle but the family have not.

I did get out and about very early with the dogs and we varied our route. We abandoned Castle Meadows and ventured across the Water Meadows and onto the Thames path. It was another beautiful, calm and sunny morning. A quiet morning.

I went down on the towpath so Minnie could enjoy the river. But she ignored it completely. She scrambled down the river banks which were of gentle gradient, but I think H was more adventurous. However, Minnie did run out of a dewpond in the water meadow. The water meadow is not watery. Bone dry in fact after all that winter flooding and freezing. But the pond contained enough water to attract Minnie where the Thames had failed.

The dogs both had a really good run around. I did a little thinking on the upper lower mindful bench. And we returned home for another little sit down.

I became involved with my photos. I discovered I had an awful lot of screenshots. (Over 4000) None were labelled and a lot are repeats or need deleting.
Apparently labelling them is a useful thing to do. So now I know. That will keep me going for a while. Until the end of the year I should think.

The morning was a bit chilly for sitting outside, but I did make the reclining chair in the afternoon. I admired my plants without feeling pressure to attend to many. I was working out how to construct wire supports for my new jasmines which are still some way from instant impact.
Then I remembered the front garden…

I cooked up together a scrappy supper of potatoes and kale and spinach. T doesn’t seem to be enjoying his greens as they were rejected in a pathetic heap on his plate.

The Illingworths have completed their coast walk from St Ives to Penzance and are en route home. (Update: are home)

What fabulous weather, views and achievement.

Is he yawning or yelling?

I’ve only one picture from Barcelona today, so far, but it is a fine one.

I’m enjoying Spring Watch on TV which is anchored in some new ‘super’ reserve in Dorset. Not super in the colloquial sense but super as in of something specially scientific about it. First of its kind. To do with cooperation of different land owners and habitats. The programme diverted to North Wales to Eryri. This location once used to be called Snowdonia but not any more. Eryri. Mark that.

Thought for the Day

Please note the photo is of the Mawddach Estuary one of our top places between Barmouth and Dolgellau.

Good grief! Glan y Mor is now surrounded by houses.
