A bit of a bumpy night which only helped me to get up early to walk the dogs at Castle a meadows.
It was around 06.30 when we arrived – yes- 06.30. The sun was shining and the shadows were long. And we were not alone. I had the ball, treats, poo bags, the whole lot for once and we headed up the hill to upper mindfulness bench number one. Minnie chased the ball and H umpired. And I mindfulled.
We then moved down the hill to lower mindfulness bench 2. Minnie found the stream and the pond but was wet from the long grass anyway.
H found a wayward squirrel and kept it company for a while until we were ready to return to the car.
I picked up pain au chocolat for T , croissant for me, made coffee and fell asleep.

The early outing paid off because the dogs have been quiet all day, none of this pacing from Minnie. And even quieter after I fed them. I will aim for the same plan tomorrow . Not least because the walk was lovely.
I made soup from veg which were a little past their best and the soup was very yummy. I added in a Heinz 5 bean snap pot mix which in turn added a hint of tomato and some fibre.

That was left cooking whilst I broke my back fiddling with one or two plants in the garden. The two jasmines are planted in pots by the right hand fence but are taking their time to spread across the fence panels. No instant impact as suggested on the labels. I got smothered in nasty little ants lurking in one of the pots. They bit me. 😡
I decided to sit down and enjoy the soup. T received a sandwich for his efforts at lying in bed. And I just sat around in a bit of sunny shade. (Oxymoron)
Someone in Moulsford has a white chalk X on the pavement outside their house which may mean they were targeted for burglary. Quite far fetched idea, but it takes me back to earlier in the week and the man in our back passage. (Ha ha) And H’s uncharacteristic night time barking.

I actually dozed off in my sunny shade. H found the sun too hot and retreated, whereas Minnie stayed inside.
The Roberts made it to Bristol for their early flight so I assume they are ‘doing’ Barcelona. Such a fabulous city, thanks to Gaudi, (not forgetting Picasso and Miro) and all the pick pockets. You are so lucky it was an early flight…. Read on

I think the Illis are somewhere between St Ives and Penzance and a tented night. Fleur’s choice.
‘nice we r on way to Penzance to get taxi to st Ives to walk to Penzance 🤣’. From Ali this morning… I think they drove to Penzance to abandon their car to pick up a taxi to take them back to St Ives so they could do the coast path. Or similar! I believe it is a 4 day trek and I don’t think they’ve got 4 days.

Have a great time all of you !
Oh the Roberts family are so lucky to have escaped this catastrophic breakdown in passport control. No E gates working at any airport which has led to 3 hour queues.

Bristol airport later today long after they had left.
