I enjoyed a reasonable sleep. And awoke feeling hungry at around 06.00. Probably something to do with the fact that we had finished yesterday’s food intake around 15.00.
Unfortunately, the fridge was looking quite naked though there were some oranges and apples. And I unfroze some bread which definitely disappointed. Even toasting it did not do the job.
The day had dawned miserable, grey and damp. This quickly translated to tragic, light black and wet. The dogs and I revisited Castle Meadows but I had forgotten the doggy treats which meant the ball games would not be games. Just ball in the mouth. But the ball did not get as far as the mouth and a stick was substituted, and we settled for a ‘straight walk in the damp before it rains again.’ Accurate as it happens.

Minnie never fails to find water. Actually, H led the way but stopped short. Minnie just ploughed through the stream, more than once. We had a little mindfulness sojourn on a bench for her to dry out, before arriving back at the car, just as the first ( of many) drops hit the windscreen. The ones that followed were heavy and hard and filled the road and roof guttering with murky streams.

At home, I became creative using the few naked fridge and freezer ingredients to construct a fish pie and a fruit pie for pudding. Both utterly delicious. Even T ate his fish pie. The fruit one had been put aside for later. How can you not eat raspberry and blackcurrant pie? ( he had it for brekkie this morning) My two favourite fruits combined in one heavenly magnificence!
I may have then indulged in a little relaxation. Deeply relaxed, I was disturbed by a close up and personal meeting with hot breath, followed by a hairy black face. Too much! I was now up for the evening.
Tomorrow morning we will have no power for a few hours – annoying but SSSE gave us plenty of notice.
The day drifted on. I could hear T banging and crashing in the kitchen but kept myself out of the way again.
I had refilled the dish washer liquid bottle with dilute liquid. But it never lasts long because he fills the sinks to the top with water which has to be green. Hence the quick disappearance of liquid. In the morning, I am always greeted by a sink full of cold greasy green water full of wet plates. Disgusting! These get transferred to the dishwasher in all their loveliness. I usually try to make sure that all crockery is in the washer ahead of his attention, but last thing at night it never works out.
T loves Minnie, but can’t remember her name or sex, nor the fact that she is not our dog. When I said I would have to return the dog, later today, he responded with what dog and where to? She is known to him as the big black dog. The BBD who loves him and tries to get on his knee or into bed with him. She knows how to curry favour!
