Marie Antoinette

We had to paint her in Art today.

Another decent sleep but with an early wake up, which is not the same as an early get up.

I had to force myself out of bed around 07.30 so that H could have a stroll before I departed for Art in Abingdon. It was a turgid and grey morning. But H ran after the ball. A few times. But overlooked the bring it back bit of the game.

I arrived in Abingdon in reasonable time after a slow and tedious journey. I was held up for about 15 minutes at the silly temporary traffic light just outside Wallingford. Three times it changed before I got through. They need to change the phasing.
Then I got stuck in Abingdon trailing behind some highways vehicle that probably should not have been in the middle of Abingdon at all.

Marie Antoinette / pale face and extraordinary wig was our focus. In watercolour. It would never have been my choice of subject matter, but I got on with it.

T was still in bed when I arrived home. On the doorstep, waiting for me were 3 X 1kg bags of Agen prunes. Perhaps I got a bit carried away, especially given what occurred later in the day. Agen prunes are the best and juiciest of prunes. The courrier had taken the trouble to ring me in the middle of my Art class to tell me he was trying to deliver them. And where was T? Being asleep I think.

I cooked us both lunch of jackets and an edamame bean/ pea mix. Followed by prunes. I had been craving prunes in the style of the Pesaro Hotel. And did T eat his? What a silly question.

About two hours later and for the rest of the day and evening, I was smitten by the urgent need to sit on a loo. Any loo. I can’t blame the prunes or the peas and beans. It must have been something I ate earlier. I will say no more except it was a nuisance.

Update Wednesday morning:

Urgent need for the loo has passed

I have the dentist to visit

At least 32 dead in train crash near Larissa. There are not that many trains in Greece so this would be quite careless of them if it were not so serious.

Thought for the Day
