Two Herons up a tree

The end of my sleep was very satisfactory but the start was not great!
Eventually, after I had poured brekkie into T, thé ladies and I went for a walk.
Because the skiers were going to be back earlier than expected ( early afternoon/ late lunchtime) I decided to drop the milk and bread off at the Illis and walk at Lardon Chase. But best laid plans etc.
No parking left at Lardon Chase so I drove to Pangbourne Meadows where I grabbed the last parking space.
It was a benign and sunny morning which had brought people out in numbers. I was overheated. The car thermometer informed me it was 16C.
So we sat and admired river cruisers, people in kayaks, dogs being walked, swans being led.
For some unknown reason, a lone (bag) piper played a lament or two from the other side of the river.
And two herons were clearly full of spring fever up a tree.

The Angel of the North? This was a pose it held for ages. It was not a quick flap!

Heidi fell in the river – she was not paying attention to where the slipway ended and received a rude, wet, surprise.
Minnie left the ball under some trees on our return journey which meant trekking back to retrieve it.

Spot the heron

Altogether a very pleasant walk.

I returned home to find T up! Shock’ Horror! He was all ready for summer in his shorts, all windows wide open ( it’s not THAT warm) and he subsided into a chair in the shed to sunbathe.

I had booked a table at the Five Little Pigs for lunch.
This was extremely delicious. And very filling. T had no problem demolishing everything placed in front of him, which was a piece of nicely cooked hake nestling on top of the most tasty gigantes ever. Not a tomato is sight, but really delicate flavours.

We returned home to allow our tummies to recover.
T seems to have been up all day – spring fever for him too I think. But he has been doing the usual sort of strange things. My peace … well what peace?

Tomorrow is a bit complicated with various ‘might happens’ amongst all the ‘will happens.’

I took Minnie back this evening because of the ‘will happens’. The sky was inky and the stars/ planets were very bright. Even despite the odd street light which cast its orange glow.

I finished Hotel Portofino minus the ads, but with a bit of freezing and buffering. Doc Martin awaits.
