Sneaky Supper Out

I slept quite nicely until the usual 05.30 or so. And then I poured bagels into T, flexed and fell fast asleep again for an hour or so. The day was another grey and uninviting one.
I may have forgotten to mention my early morning ritual – 3 online word games – Wordle, Waffle and Quordle. Quordle is the trickiest. I even used all my skill to solve Wordle first go. Once. Just the one and only. Once.
Eleanor provides the challenge for me. (And others) But I am no challenge where additional Squaredle is concerned. And then there is Worldle. No hope.

I was quite groggy when I awoke again, but the day had not improved. We arose, that’s H and I, not T. And we went walking at Castle Meadows. There, the floods had almost completely retreated and any ice was melting into invisibility.
The grass was squelchy, becoming increasingly brown and well-trodden, and walkers were few. The contemplation bench was not quite so bum clenchingly cold. It was grey and miserable which was catching.

We made it home where I worked upon getting T up over the next few hours. I had found a last minute slot to book a table at the Bear North Moreton, Gold dust! At 17.00, so no lunch for us. This is one of the most comfortable and homely pubs I know. A recently opened enterprise linked to the Five Little Pigs in Wallingford.

It was busyish with drinkers. Five o ‘ clock was a good time for us to eat the deliciousness on offer.

I downloaded some pics from Cholsey Daycare where T says he doesn’t do anything much. Doesn’t look quite like that to me!

Thought for the Day

No – it’s not a joke! You can get them on Amazon
