More Lunch

A night where I had trouble drifting off to sleep. But once I had drifted off, the night was reasonable, but just not long enough.

There was no immediate hurry to vacate the bed – just a little tidying before the new clean team arrived. And T got himself up in time for them to clean the bedroom and ensuite.
To avoid being in the way of their labours, I took T out for a short walk with H and received the usual whinging ear bashing about being cold etc. I really need to get him out walking more. Roll on lighter evenings. It didn’t help that despite it being warmer, it was stilly chilly for T and it was unpleasantly drizzly.

I then took him for coffee at the Oxshed, where it was warm and welcoming, and I fed him a halloumi and chilli jam burger. This was to be his lunch / brunch because I was off out on a ladies’ only jaunt.

The house smelt nice and clean upon our return and T eyed up the bed once more.

I met up with Val and Brenda at the Aldermaston Emporium where we put the world to rights over a jacket potato – me- and Welsh rarebit – them. Various sets of temporary traffic lights lay in wait to ambush me, so I was only a few minutes late. Both the ladies are well and keeping busy. But Brenda is still struggling with back and knee pain, although to a lesser extent than previously.

T had revisited the bed, and was still in it when I arrived home, having been barely distracted by the Aldermaston emporium goodies.

I talked to Tracey, our neighbour, for a while. Their little Staffie died very suddenly over Christmas which shocked them all. She had two large tumours that revealed themselves suddenly and there was nothing that could be done. I had not realised that they had acquired another dog over the summer (5 dogs then) but sadly, now 4 . The latest one is a liquid little beauty with the softest personality and features. Some sort of spaniel cross I think.

Unfortunately, T seems a bit lively this evening. I must keep an eye on him. I’m not feeling lively, and predictably, I had a little doze, but in the earlier part of the evening.

Thought for the Day
