Foggy

I overslept! Just a bit. Until about 07.30. There was a knock on effect to that through the rest of the day. I think I might have had a brief earlier peek at the day. But I switched it off until 07.30.
After some consideration, I arose to take H out and to do some shopping. The Illis are visiting tomorrow. For lunch. So that meant shopping. Food shopping.
Outside, was cold and foggy. Quite thick fog and the temperature was hovering between 1C and -1C.
The thickness of the ice formation over the last few days, was proved by a chunk of the stuff that someone had broken up and ‘carelessly’ dropped near the path.

Ali rang to interrupt our walk and hint at needing a lift to Wallingford. Well I was already in Wallingford so I finished our walk at a smart pace. Smart pace for me. We were on our way back anyway.

A quick dash to Streatley and I brought Fleur and Ali to the hockey club for some sort of impromptu activity. The frost scuppers any play on the Astro turf as it becomes dangerous. But impromptu activity replaced it.
And only then, did I make it I to Waitrose. The fridge is replenished but I’m not sure if it will stay that way until Ali and Dave arrive. The grapes have already suffered invasive tactics.

I had to recharge my watch and discovered my walk had been exaggerated because I forgot to stop the workout.
I prepared supper for T whereupon I discovered IKEA gravy granules are vegetarian. They make a good sauce by the time you’ve added vegetables, spices and chili powder. Chemically manufactured without an animal in sight.

I then had a FaceTime with Anne who has got over Covid, is looking forward to her trip down under in March, and who is having her roof replaced. Not the ideal time.

TV followed including catch up for Death in Paradise and an episode of Casualty. Death in Paradise – well it was all nice and warm. But I think there is a romantic hitch for Ralph Little and possibly a change of main character. All will be revealed. As for Casualty – I feel a Care Home abuse theme coming on. And then there were the migrants… Suella they are gunning for you.

Predictably: 1. T did not eat much of his supper- it awaits H later. 2. I fell asleep on the sofa and then in bed … No trouble sleeping last night. (It’s Sunday now)

Nadim Zahawi seems to be in a spot of bother over his tax affairs. To the tune of a few million £. But then this government is so mired in controversy that someone is always in bother.

Thought for the Day
