Hot

Much better sleep last night until T caused disturbance in the early hours which left me quite wakeful for a while. A dream I think.

After my slightly more satisfying sleep, I thought briefly about doing flexing. Not done any for quite a while. Thought was as far as I got.

I trailed H through the olive groves. It was a beautiful still morning with the bluest of skies. The folds in the mountains, the buildings, the trees, they all stood out in sharp relief in the early sunlight.

I prepared a balcony brekkie. T levered himself out of bed (albeit briefly) and had one of those pre-packed Choccy croissants followed by toasts and some sort of orange jam. H was offered well car-cooked cheese slices. I don’t think they travelled well during our journey the other day. I could have re-soled my shoes with them. Brekkie was actually very good at a fraction of the price of the restaurant one. Same as at the camping.

We now have fresh fruit for tomorrow’s effort.

Although he arose for brekkie, getting him up and ready to go out was entirely another matter. Lots of nagging and clothing suggestions followed and we eventually escaped soon after 11.00.

We returned to White lake and our lagoon beach. All 5 semi-broken sunbeds were in use so we unloaded our trusty chairs from the car. The parasol did not like the breeze, so, after initial investigation, it was packed up again. Yes, a breeze had got up as the morning drew on.

Although pleasantly cool, by our lagoon, it was actually a very warm day.

After the regulation couple of hours of swimming and relaxing, it was time to move on. I had previously taken H for a wander where she (discretely) decided to relieve herself of various waste products. She chose to paddle and I took her for another short swim. She was on the lead but did not protest other than turn towards the shore. And then of course, we had the mad dash around/ roll in the sand. Which meant delaying our departure in the interests of the car and the hotel room, so she was less sandy,

The mini market near the monastery was a treat. Lovely fresh veg and fruit were proudly displayed in a chiller, unlike its cousin down the road where everything was rotting. It also offered copious supplies of zero beer. Job done!

Back to the hotel with T chomping on an ice cream and nuts and grapes for lunch for me. We had intended to eat out but T was too into his ice cream.

I enjoyed the sun on our terrace for about 10 minutes before I started to cook. Our room stays lovely and cool without air con help. And it was really warm outside. Lying down meant only one thing. A good snooze.

My holiday night sleeps have not been particularly good. I’m not sure why, but a restless habit prevails. The last decent one was at Imola I think. It is 04.14 as I type. Whether sleep will capture me again remains to be seen. It did! (No probs there. It is 07.15 now and almost daylight)

The local diner, with the terrible reviews, seems to have packed up for the season. At least, all the chairs are stacked up, ready to decapitate any intruder.

We drove up the road to near the monastery, for our meal, to a fish restaurant . It was very nicely cooked, not cheap, but good. And, it still had stocks of zero beer.

I found an island!
And a Pontikaki one nearby
The ancient Monastery
Sunsetting
Reflections- Work that one out!

Once back home, it was time to make sure H produced a wee. She can be a but reluctant last thing. The olive groves obviously don’t harbour the right smells. Now it was time to play with the light switches. And then to bed.

Thought for the Day
