Sleeves this evening

I groaned as I arose this morning, my heart was not really in it. 08.00 would be such a lovely time to go out. BUT I never regret it. The sand is such a challenge!! The sunrise is such a treat. The canine and human company are great, the day just would not be the same without early adventures.

And today, I abandoned the battle to fit my feet into my walking sandals and risked walking out in my new crocs. Brilliant. Apart from the odd prickly thing that snuck in there, best recent buy, those crocs. So far.

I enjoyed a little solitude this morning as the sun rose.

Heidi knows they are out there

Our doggy paths did not cross until the pack had been returned home and I was at the tip of the promontory before Eleanor and Chris appeared. With Iera, who visits sometimes, Isabella, Sasha, and Oskar who was up for more exercise.

Isabella hunted her balls, her shadow, Sasha, helped. H and O just did their own thing.

H took exception to some misguided female humanoid who had also decided to exercise early. She was rewarded by Heidi barks.

It was a warmish morning with a breeze bringing in breakers and choppiness on Grammeno Beach.

E and I wandered back slowly enjoying the perfume of the lilies and the warming sunlight.

The sea was too rough for me to contemplate a swim so I got on with preparing brekkie. A bit more  fulsome today since we had replenished stocks. Banana AND nectarine and rusks.

Terry popped by and we chatted a while as he drank a very diligently prepared coffee!

After the usual early chores, I knew I was set to fall asleep. I had a go at removing some of the beach that was filling the cabin, but it was tricky without a broom. So I gave in and lay down and that was that. Then, of course, I woke up needing the loo. Nothing like being in a hurry and having to leg it the 50m to the nearest cubicle.

I’m not really sure what we did after that apart from chatter to each other and our expat neighbours and grown up offspring.

Eleanor kindly called by to tell me that , despite many alerts warning of strong winds, the sea was fairly flat calm. It was. Just. Though breakers were beginning to form, strengthening whilst we swam. E, Terry and myself. T supervised from a sunbed, waving a windmill. As you do.

It was all very nice.

Chris visited for tea. T is complaining about his itches. At least the winds, which may strengthen, will keep biting and other insects at bay.
This evening it is much cooler and I may need sleeves.

We pottered off to the onsite restaurant for some beetroot amongst other things and then it was time for bed.

Thought for the Day
