Very sad to hear today of the death of Bill Turnbull. (Stud muffin to me). He was an amazing presenter on the BBC Breakfast Show. He was wise and knowledgeable and funny and I derived so much pleasure from watching him with Sian Williams, (co-presenter) Chris Hollins (sport) and Carol Kirkwood (weather) – the Dream Team. And he was a great bee-keeper too. Such a nice man. I don’t often get affected by death of TV types, but Bill got under my skin.
I ‘enjoyed’ a rather torrid night with a long wakeful period – too many tabs open is the latest expression. In the end, I engraved the mental list of ’jobs’ to do and ’things’ to take (before Kriti) under a Reminder, because it was these tabs that were keeping me awake.
I grabbed a snack and a hot drink and this all made sure I fell asleep again. And awoke again well after 07.00. Better than 03.00.
T was up in good time before the arrival of our clean team. We were discussing what they could do / what I would like them to do during our absence.
T accompanied H and myself for a wander around Castle Meadows. It was fairly deserted and we had a pleasant stroll, being lucky to arrive home before a five minute, quite heavy, rain shower. Not nearly enough, but a start. The forecast holds promise of damper days.
Ashley chopped my hair. T got into a huge sulk because he wanted to come with me, but I could not be bothered to be worrying about where he would lose himself whilst I was being shorn. I was later reminded that, for the last chop, I had given him an airtag attached to some useless key, so I could track him. It worked on that occasion.
Today, I left him at home but returned to pick him up for his own choppy experience. He is deshagged.
In the meanwhile, I was entertained by two very sweet budgies at the barbers. But their wings were clipped and the female struggled to get enough height to fly from the floor to her mate. That also made me sad.

We returned home via a coffee at the Swan. I was mildly disconcerted to discover they have severed their connection with the Coppa club and no longer offer their tasty pizzas and other savoury snacks. Cakes and biscuits – yes. But, I was not really in the mood for sweet meats.
A cup of coffee and a (delicious – I take it all back) chocolate brownie later and I found myself waking up after an absent period. Catching up on what I missed last night.
I now have limited understanding of why I no longer get wordpress blogs by email. Something to do with an unhelpful update. I have received various test posts. It will all become clear. And, yes – a full blog post arrived by email this evening.
Thought for the Day

Not so much as one negative nano hint anywhere. No … but there was another side to Bill, or, Bill could be … if …Nothing…
