Look who popped up!

Boy … did I sleep well, despite nursing my bothersome collection of strained buttock and strange cramps. My nocturnal visit to the loo was a reminder of my torture.
You But, I know that movement helps movement so I did a bit of gentle flexing and then returned to bed to nurse the sore parts.

I carried out a bit more new bed research and have finally settled on frames and headboards.

And then, I could not avoid it any longer. Getting up that is. So up I got. I had chores to do at home and errands to carry out elsewhere. And H to walk.

I unpacked our bag from the weekend and sorted out some washing that was lying around creating an untidy vision. I am such a stickler for tidy mess! Or maybe that is not what I mean. Perhaps tidiness is what I really mean. And I wish I were a stickler for it instead of a slut.

Honesty is the best policy.

I rescued H’s flea and worm tabs from the vet, only to bump into one of Pen’s primary school friends who I had not seen for over 20 years. Rebecca Cornwall!
We had a longish – brief catch up, as best you can, when one of you is working in the vet reception area, which is what she was doing. Luckily there was no one else there. Rebecca spent a couple of years in Normandy, not too far from our place. Mary is now living at Wash Common and hates it. Clive and Deborah are in Basingstoke. Between the three siblings they have produced one grandchild for Mary. Did Rebecca look a day older? Yes, quite a few (years in fact).

After that, it was time to collect our tabs from the doc. Not for fleas or worms.

And then H and I enjoyed a solitary walk at Gatehampton in warm sunshine, with a cool breeze teasing us every so often. There were no cattle and no dead bunnies and few people. I have found it strange that Gatehampton has been so unloved lately. It is one of my favourite places to walk. Only one boat drifted past as we sat on the river bank. Last year you could not get near the river due to people and/or cattle.

Grubby damp dog
Curious… I’m wondering whether an otter might have been responsible for this shell midden

I am pleased to report that my strained glute is feeling less strained and the cramps have buggered off elsewhere. Time is the true healer.

I popped into Tesco Express next, for some fruit and veg. I’m trying to keep limited fresh items due to our departure in less than a week. If we depart. In fact I’m trying to limit all food stocks. I hear T constantly disturbing the contents of the freezer! Or reorganising the fridge.

I might have had a bit of a snooze this afternoon and I awoke with cold fingers and toes. The evenings are noticeably much cooler and are closing in much earlier. Sad to say, summer is departing. But we are not. Yet. Still no rain.

I am pleased to report that H has had her flea tab and Leishguard buried in rice with heavy overtones of left over curry. Worms tomorrow! She’s such a lucky dog, no expense spared! Generous to a fault – that is me!
