Slept well. Up late.
Well it was after 07.00 though I did surface around 06.00 but not for long.
Last night, as they were making a cup of tea, after the riotous night out, Pen pointed out our milk was past its use by date ( 8 May). Just by a few days! That was not so good. So, the first thing I did this morning, was pop to our Morrisons local filling station to acquire something a bit fresher. And of course, I ignored the heap of freshly baked pastries ( on the premises) . Not.
So everyone was rewarded with brekkie and uncurdled tea.
I chatted to Pen awhile and carried out more gardening chores. I now have an oranges arrangement and a blues arrangement. I just have 6 plants to find homes for. Annoyingly, one of my expensive new clematis plants is all droopy. I’m hoping it is just lack of water as yesterday’s rain did not reach the plant concerned, due to thick and overhanging horse chestnut branches. It was warm enough to dit outside while we awaited T.
T arose and he and Pen and H set off to walk from here to Streatley, whilst I drove there and parked up at the Swan. I walked to meet them and we finally were reunited near Cleeve Lock. It was odd walking without a dog but H tore towards me once I was visible.
As I put my lonely feet forward, I was accosted by small groups of Americans walking towards Streatley. They were mainly of a certain age. And turned out to be on an organised group tour walking the Thames Path. A vehicle was transporting their baggage from place to place.

We snacked at the Swan, being eventually joined by Ali after she had carried out a rescue mission. George having been hit in the face (hard ) by a ball. One for which one of his best friends is still apologising. The school did not want to send him home on the school bus.
Upon our return, Pen departed and I may have dozed off. Well- certainly did!

News from Ukraine. Timur’s troublesome teeth require more draining tomorrow, so tonight’s bus ticket to Poland has been cancelled. But, they hope to book another for the weekend. Unfortunately, they will miss a local welcome to UK coffee morning on Monday, which might have provided useful local contacts for Elena. Dragging their heels is not helping the situation for various reasons- schooling / next attempt to go to Mauritius / work for Elena / getting to a bank and DWP etc etc. But then we are not living in Ukraine with all its awfulness. There have been so many unmet deadlines.
T will be tired because two full on sociable days does this to him. And he has another coming up as I am taking him to his ’social club’ tomorrow for a trial. ( Day care)
