It has been a very dissatisfactory day – I have done nothing much and T has done even less, sleeping most of the day. This is not good for him and I am wondering if it is a side effect of the memantine.
A good sleep for me and a bit of early exercise and a bit of nagging worry. Great start to the day! I continued to feel so sorry for Ali and co and their lost holiday. Stiff upper lip and all that.
T didn’t want to get up again and the day was not inviting. The ground was wet so there must have been light rain. But not enough to give everything a good drenching.
I faffed around in bed for a bit, before finally deciding to go to the local coffee morning. T was still deeply involved with the bed as H and I strode out across the Rec where H was a good girl within the Pavilion. I couldn’t be bothered to put up with the two stressful hours required to get T ready to go out.
I enjoyed chatting to the locals without suffering the additional stress of what T might be saying. Other locals have also enjoyed the pox that covid is. Loads of it around.
Anek have now sent us our Cretan ferry tickets for the autumn. Fingers crossed.
Soup for lunch, then after my overloaded and busy morning, some TV, some internet investigation, supper. T got up, ate his supper and then went back to bed until around 21.00. Then we were both awake for ages.
I booked Sunday lunch at a recently opened brasserie/ restaurant in Wallingford that has received stunning reviews in a Guardian article from Jay Rayner. I had read good online reviews of it.
We shall see.
Well we know about Nettlebed Creamery and Blue Tin – been there done them. Many times. I think Jay Rayner liked his cheese toasty. Mo
SUNFLOWER INSTALLATION FOR UKRAINE

This half term the College has created an art installation made up of over 800 sunflowers with messages of hope and support for Ukraine from our students.
This activity has enabled all students to take some time to reflect and think about those who have been impacted by the war in Ukraine, as well as raising awareness.
We continue as a College to raise money for the Disasters Emergency Committee if anyone would like to donate www.dec.org.uk
Now the Illis are no longer going to Mauritius, Alex is busy organising things for the Ukranians. School uniform, school itself, bank, benefits. She has been overwhelmed with offers of help and gifts from extra TV to car booster seat, bed base vouchers, pocket money, second-hand uniform, school bag etc.
They are now planning to travel to Warsaw and fly out from there. We keep our fingers crossed for them.
Thought for the Day
