Moats and Baby Bunnies

I didn’t sleep that well agIn, but better than yesterday. I was up and getting brekkie amongst other chores and activity at the usual sort of time. And then I promptly fell asleep again.

T is continuing his close relationship with the bed. However, I did manage to separate him from his favourite companion for long enough to change the sheets. They are now dancing on the line in the gentle breeze that has replaced yesterday’s stormy gale. They might even dry as it is quite sunny. But he did not arise for long- he merely returned himself to the fresh bedding.

H and I went to Castle Meadows again. It was looking rather lovely, green and growing. Only a couple of puddles in the craters in the lane. H has also developed a relationship, a relationship with the banks of brambles which line the very steep slopes of the moat. I suspect these harbour baby bunnies. I recognise the signs from Greenham Days. Absent dog, invisible dog, deaf dog , insolent dog, dog teenage behaviour.

I could see H and she could see me. But obedience was not high on her list of priorities. That vibrating collar may be required. But an extra stern tone of voice did the trick. After quite a whike.

I popped into Waitrose and I popped out again. I only got as far as the car park. It was full and the whole place was heaving with people. I can only get smoked undyed cod in Waitrose, so the lack of parking was very annoying. After my tour of the carpark we left empty handed. I will have to go back tomorrow morning.

The busyness was probably due to the schools breaking up today. Although I do not understand why this should signal ‘take your kids to Waitrose’ activity. Maybe it is a phenomenon local to Wallingford. This is not the first time it has happened.

I dug T out of bed to feed him some late lunch because I was going out with Basingstoke friends that evening. I eyed up the grass which has been busy growing again. But decided to let it grow a bit more before I cut it.

So I relaxed for a while. I left for my night out on the village – we were meeting in Ecchinswell. It was very pleasant and good to see the girls again. We have been meeting like this for over 20 years now.

My journey home was in pouring rain. probably reflects an excuse not to mow the grass tomorrow.

Thought for the day

If i finished my tasks, maybe i would sleep better
