Full up after a lovely meal at the Lido.
Tomorrow is our 51st wedding anniversary. Last year, we were in lockdown and celebrated the golden years with a special zoom tea party, organised by Ali and Co. Tomorrow we will celebrate the 70th birthday of someone we do not know.
We received two lovely surprises today. Thanks to all concerned.
I slept well again, but with a couple of wakeful interludes that did not last long. I felt in no hurry to get up as the grey light of the dawning day did not excite me.
However, once the sky had turned blue, that was a different matter. I needed to get H out for a quick walk and I wanted to get to Lidl earlier than late morning just in case they had some of their wonderful brown bread. Ha ha . No boules. Had to make do with their sliced malt, which is actually very good. I added some grapes, milk, cheese and soup mix into the basket and ignored everything else. My emptyish fridge policy rules. Remember!
Update – the grapes have already been eaten and the other items are repositioned.
T was not up when I returned. So I left to watch the hockey without him. It was quite windy by now and the car developed a gentle rocking motion; the sun was warm and so was the car. My eyes felt heavy!
I’m not sure of the final match result but it was a close match.
By the time I returned home, T was … still not up! So I grabbed some relaxation time and then we took H for a better short walk than the one she had this morning. Back to Castle Meadows which was busy enough and parking spaces in the lane were scarce.
The lane, at the far end, is riddled with massive craters. Myself and the new car, no longer park down there. As we walked towards the Meadows, there was a thunderous scratchy sound and we watched a large saloon car scrape and bounce its way through the craters. They were full of water which can not have helped . The driver had a good sense of humour as he ruefully commented on possible damage.

T and I left for the Lido for me to swim and for us both to eat. The swim was good but the wind was chilly. There were very few people in the pool; most were draped around the hot pool. And they were mostly guests for massages/treatments. These are instantly recognisable because they are given special towelling dressing gowns to wear. Today, nobody told me I was in their way. Phew!
The sun was setting and I watched toy aeroplanes high above, skating across the sky, whilst trying to pretend they were the real thing and they contained real people.
The meal was very good, as all Lido meals are. We were very full. And we returned home to watch the rugby. H was very pleased to see us.
Brenda has left Michael in his ’hotel’ . She told him she would pick him up in a couple of days. 1 day converts to 1 week. We will see her tomorrow as we have a function to attend together. Fingers crossed.
