Itsy Bitsy

I was awake at the usual sort of time but I had no time for a swim , other matters beckoned.

Today was a day for a haircut, window cleaner, house cleaner, windscreen glass finishing off. It was all together too much to contemplate.
I took H for a swift early walk- at least one job I could tick off. It was round Streatley Meadows thanks to the annoying 4 way traffic lights at Ferry Lane, Cholsey. I have no idea if they are still there but I was not prepared for hold ups.

I returned her home before doing a little crafting. And whilst involved with this, I discovered my hair appointment was not at 11.30 but at 11.00, which led to a very hasty departure, still covered in paint and with a birds nest disguised as hair.

I met Eddie on the way down the road, and he filled me in on W and B. Wendy had had a fall which meant 4 days in hospital. Bert had some issue or other with tablets. This explains comings and goings of medical people, and an ambulance, all of which passed me by. Apparently they are alright now. And both at home. I knew I hadn’t seen them around and the car hadn’t seemed to move.

Sadly for them, perceived local wisdom is not to get involved. That has come from Eddie, Angela, Ali and Sharon ( my cleaner, whose partner’s parents live round the corner). I do worry about their little dog. She is cute.
My main reason is that I have caught Burt out lying, brazenly, so many times that I don’t wish to chat with them, or have any dealings lest it get twisted into some other ridiculous fantasy, or pack of lies. I have seen this happen. And I know they are guilty of it.

So for years now, my rule has been to avoid interaction. Tracey has a good let out , she pretends to be chatting on her phone. I’ve adopted that when I’ve seen Burt lurking when I arrive home from somewhere.

Anyway, my hair was cut, Sharon cleaned and I had a brief chat with her.

The NHS sent me a text about RSV vaccinations. So I’ve booked one of those. The surgery have adopted a new telephone system which is annoying, where both surgeries are lumped together and I was irritated to find myself number 10 in the phone queue. So I followed their call back system which did work. Never had a number 10 long queue when I phoned Goring. But you can’t do that any more.

And then I had sprouts and broccoli in a bowl of soup.

I thought about a snooze but couldn’t be bothered. In the meantime the windscreen people put their visit off. Yet again. 5th attempt to finish the job is next Wednesday. If that fails I might start to give them a piece of my mind.

And the windows got cleaned early on which sent Heidi into a frenzy.

And I forgot to mention that the bin operatives were the lucky recipients of more curious items from my freezer which I dumped in the food bin in the dark this morning.

So that was my day. Tyres tomorrow: And I could use some fresh veg. Not for the tyres, for me.

And I’ve arranged a visit to the raku ceramicist to buy a pot for Tina – he is near Warminster so that is a trip down the A303 next Thursday. His workshop is part of a country cafe and studio complex called the Ginger Piggery beside the River Wylye so H can come too.

Had quite a chat with Pen who is holding her first printing workshop this evening – part of a series of different media classes from her home. She sent me a beautiful printed valentine card. One she printed. And a gift of a rose that I have coveted for ages. Warm Welcome. Aka Chew Wizz.

Thought for the Day
