Another good night’s sleep, mostly, apart from a short wakeful period during the night. A blocked up nose was the cause and the need to find a new bottle of nasal spray. H followed me out to the kitchen and took a long drink and a sniff round the garden.
I had no trouble getting back to sleep. We awoke, around 07.00 I think and ate brekkie before heading out to Greenham around 09.00.
At this point, the day was overcast, with hints of rain in the air, but it was not cold. Greenham seemed quite busy as the morning progressed. The busyness was deceptive because certain areas are out of bounds due to ground nesting birds. So more people were using the gravel tracks because they were unable to ramble across some of the open heathland or grassy areas.
Eleanor took herself off for a longer ramble near the silos and I manned a bench at the clock tower. She returned and explored the museum area whilst I dog sat. E informed me that there has been some renewing of the exhibition material and updating of toilet facilities etc as a result of the 80th DDay anniversary.
The cows were out and about near the dog pond and I spied a shiny new bench in the far side of the pond.

We agreed it was a good morning to be out and about and returned home to eat left overs.
The afternoon slipped by after lunch which predictably had a sleepy glow to it. The afternoon that is, not lunch.
We finally made it to the end of the last episode of Clarksons Farm series 3. Or Eleanor did, because I suffered various absences. I never mind rewatching it because there is always something I missed first time around. And it ends leaving you feeling comfortable this time around. Except I missed it.
I had picked more courgettes today and put them into one of my bourekis, alongside a peas and spinach vegetable heap. I’m pleased to say I the fridge is less full now and I can actually find some of the things I stuffed in there.

As the afternoon drew on it became more and more sunny and warm though the evening was chilly.
Pen , Dave, Mike and Dave made it to Engelfield where Elbow were performing. Ali is still a bit under the weather but had to get Fleur to Guildford anyway. Does hockey never rest?
Joe Biden seems to have been brought to his senses and has quit chasing another term. So the dementia one has abandoned the race – now for the demented one. But then he has been chosen by God. Otherwise he would not have survived the shooting incident.
Thought for the Day
