Living with Alzheimer’s …
Tomorrow is rubbish day…
Tony, can you please put the black bin out by the car?
Where is it?
In the alleyway.
What alleyway?
The one down the side of the house.
Trundle trundle trundle ..
I’ve put the green bin out.
NOT THE GREEN BIN!!!!
Why Not?
Because they won’t collect it this week.
You are being ridiculous!
Please put the big green bin back and put the black one out.
This is ridiculous.
More suspicious noises and trundling.
The black bin is out, he says.
I take the food bin out and check it.
The black bin had two bags in it this morning, now it is full???
He’s only emptied everything from the big green bin and stuffed it in the black bin. ☹️😠☹️😠☹️😠☹️😠😤😤
BUT THEN … he always did know best.
……………….
I had another really good sleep last night despite enjoying some of it quite early, and on the sofa.
The cleaners were due this morning, so I underwent the customary gentle battle to get T up so that they could do our room and our en suite. By the time he was up and nearly dressed, with one leg in and one leg out of his trousers, and by the time he had festooned our expensive curtain pole with his pyjama top and various towels, he actually allowed them entry.
Luckily for us /me, Zorah has an equally difficult and stubborn mother presenting her with equally difficult, yet different problems. She takes T in her stride.
I busied myself with some gardening chores accompanied by some jungle creature making jungle noises in the distance.
We eventually got ourselves out to Castle Meadows on a much cooler and cloudy day. The walk was refreshing. The leaning tree is still leaning and the cows are still mooing. And the Thames flows on.

For once ( very unusual) T did not suggest we go for a beer somewhere.
Upon our return, the fridge had a bit of a clear out by me and I found 4 peppers in reasonable condition, and an onion. They are now thrown together with a jar of chilli tomato puree, garlic, mint and rice and are cooking slowly in the oven. I had to take care with the mint as some was past its best. I will spare you the benefit of any lurid description. Except to say some leaves were dried and wrinkly. As for the others …

This turned out to be absolutely yummy. Even T turned the praise on. I baked it with some halloumi added in for the last 10 minutes. I always soak halloumi in water before cooking it. ( For an hour or so) It removes the salt and makes it taste really good.
Not a lot happened after that.
George turns 13 tomorrow. We are invited for tea and cake. All my grandchildren are growing up fast and are teenagers!
