The Day seems to gave gone on so long that I have forgotten how it started. But I do know it has been very warm and sunny.
I was awake late – after 07.00. And in no hurry to do anything much. So it was the usual wordling, quordling and waffling and exchange texts that started the day. I may not have mentioned this early brain activity that is shared with the select few, but it is good fun, and challenging.
Then the usual flexing, brekkiing and showering.
I spent a while working in the garden and potting up the final few plants. I have one pot that needs lobelia or trailing pelargoniums / a or similar. I pottered about for a while doing other domestic chores and then sat down to enjoy the sun.

It proved a bit fierce, so the parasol was summoned into action.
T eventually appeared, slightly overdressed, in a T shirt, a long sleeved shirt, a fleece, a light weight gilet, and, lastly, a quilted gilet. It took him about two minutes to realise the folly of his ways and discard various layers

We retreated for a walk – Little Wittenham again.
It was wonderfully warm – meadows of buttercups- shady woodland paths – views to Berinsfield and beyond. Dogs and their pets, just perfect. Thank you Earth Trust for all your benches. H smuggled amongst the grasses and woodlands, and was a bit late to chase the rabbits.

I think H felt hot. She just sat hiding from the sun under our final bench.
We returned via the Oxshed, which was closing so we did not linger. T was in a foul mood by now, the reason for which was unclear to me. Very foul abuse escaped his lips in front of children. So I quickly removed myself from the action, and he soon followed, as he found himself in a minority of one, marooned outside a closed cafe.
Never mind his inappropriate behaviour, I find it deeply embarrassing.
Back home, I used yesterday’s curry left overs to produce a meal. We settled down to watch Liverpool and Chelsea in the FA cup final. I watched the important parts – the first half and the penalty shoot out. Liverpool won thanks to their Greek substitute who was bearing a generous gift – the winning goal. Now what was I doing during the middle section?
An important singing competition dominated the rest of the evening’s viewing. Not something I tolerate. Ever. But it was in the background whilst I had a long facetime with Anne. T disappeared.
As things stand – the Spanish were all bare buttocks and skimpy leotards, Serbia was a strange woman washing her hands, and singing about Megan Markle and her hair, one country was peculiar wolves and the UK have points! A few at least. UK won on the judges’ vote . Ukraine won overall with the public vote. A good result for our singer. And also for Ukraine. Russia had not been allowed to compete.
Update from Ukraine
